In June 2013, José Mourinho left Real Madrid to return to Chelsea. The Portuguese technician then replaced Rafael Benítez, who left for Napoli.

A choice that the “Special One” regrets today.
“Saying no to Florentino Pérez remains one of my great regrets. He told me: ‘Don’t leave now, you’ve done the hardest part and the best is yet to come. Stay at Real Madrid. But I wanted to come back to Chelsea after three difficult years in Spain”he confided to Corriere dello Sport.

If he could, José Mourinho would go back.
“If I had to reconsider a professional decision, it would be this one. I knew the president of Real Madrid was right but I wanted to come back to the Blues”confesses the man who was then one of the very best football coaches on the planet.

After a succession of poor results, José Mourinho was fired by Chelsea managers on December 17, 2015. Previously, in May of the same year, the Lusitanian coach had won his third English championship title. Subsequently, he sat on the bench of Manchester United, Tottenham and AS Roma. Since last June, “Mou” has been the coach of Fenerbahçe.
