To compensate for Valentin Carboni’s injury, OM is working behind the scenes with a prime target: Julio Enciso, a Paraguayan attacking midfielder playing for Brighton. Under the leadership of Roberto De Zerbi, the Marseille club hopes to attract this young 20-year-old talent this winter.

Julio Enciso, a masterstroke for OM?

Injured until the end of the season, Valentin Carboni leaves a void that De Zerbi wants to fill quickly. Indeed, the Marseille coach identified Julio Enciso, whom he managed at Brighton, as the ideal profile. The player, lacking playing time in the Premier League, could be seduced by a loan with an option to purchase conditional on qualification for the Champions League, a formula envisaged by Pablo Longoria.

Enciso, whose value is estimated between 25 and 30 million euros, also attracts the interest of Sevilla FC, but OM has a serious advantage: the privileged relationship between the player and Roberto De Zerbi. According to initial reports, Enciso would be in favor of a temporary transfer to restart his season.

An intelligent and strategic transfer window

OM will have to demonstrate financial creativity to convince Brighton, who are hesitant to permanently part with the Paraguayan international. A loan offer with a purchase option seems to be the preferred option for limiting risks. With this approach, OM hopes to secure the services of Enciso without jeopardizing its economic future, while strengthening the squad for the second part of the season.
