Zinedine Zidane, world football icon, finally seems ready to emerge from the shadows. After leaving Real Madrid in May 2021, the former Merengues coach has not returned to the bench for 1,306 days. A prolonged absence which raised many questions, but according to the daily Marca, Zidane has now decided to return to the world of coaching.
Not just any project
However, Zizou remains faithful to his high standards. Since his departure from Real, he has refused several tempting offers, notably from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and even Saudi clubs, who offered him incredible contracts. For what ? Because Zidane does not want to commit to “any project”.
The two options that really interest him? Real Madrid, where he made history with 11 trophies, and the French team, which he dreams of leading one day. But these positions are currently occupied by Carlo Ancelotti and Didier Deschamps, respectively under contract until 2026. Zidane will therefore have to wait.
Zidane is no longer obsessed with the Blues
Marca, however, emphasizes that an innovative project could attract Zidane. A different, ambitious opportunity could convince him to return sooner than expected. For the moment, no offer seems to match this profile, and with his former staff dispersed, an immediate return seems unlikely.
In the meantime, Zidane is enjoying his life in Madrid, his family and personal projects, particularly in Marseille. But one thing is certain: the former French number 10 remains ready to roll up his sleeves as soon as an opportunity worthy of him presents itself.
