It was in the air, it is now confirmed: Eirik Horneland should be the new coach of theAS Saint-Etienne. The newspaper L’Équipe indicated this Thursday that the Norwegian technician had given his agreement to take the position left vacant by Olivier Dall’Oglio.
The latter was thanked by his management after the defeat conceded in Toulouse last Friday (1-2). Dall’Olgio will have remained on the bench of AS Saint-Etienne for a year, with the merit of having brought this historic place in French football back to Ligue 1.
A risky bet for the Greens
By attracting an almost anonymous technician, AS Saint-Etienne is taking a risky bet in its mission to maintain. Sixteenth and on the edge of the red zone, the promoted club will have to work hard to save its place in the elite of French football.
