Is David Trezeguet one of the greatest players in Juventus history? It’s quite possible. The 98 world champion revealed at AS Monaco played from 2000 to 2010 with the Bianconeri and became the 4th top scorer in the club’s history, with 138 goals in 245 matches. In 2017, for the 120th anniversary of the club, he was included, after the vote of Internet users, in the eleven in the history of the Old Lady, with Alessandro Del Piero and Roberto Baggio and attack and Zinédine Zidane and Michel Platini in the middle of land.

“Trezegol” does not, however, appear in a top 5 of the best Juve players in the 21st century proposed by Score 90with Gianluigi Buffon in the lead ahead of Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved, Giorgio Chiellini and Cristiano Ronaldo in 5th position. The presence of the five-time Ballon d’Or is causing some Piedmont fans to complain, who even regret the absence of their former French international center forward from Argentina.

Trezeguet voted best player in Serie A in 2002

Trezeguet further marked the history of Juventus by even playing in Serie B. Both players were Italian champions twice (2002 and 2003 for the 98 world champion, at a time when the transalpine championship was much more balanced; 2019 and 2020 for “CR7”). But the Portuguese, in the wake of the 2018 World Cup, came to take Juventus to a milestone in the Champions League and failed, when Trezeguet played in a C1 final during the defeat on penalties against AC Milan in 2003.

On a personal level, Cristiano Ronaldo obviously had three particularly prolific seasons, with 28, 37 and 33 goals in all competitions. But David Trezeguet also had prosperous years, with 32 or 29 goals. Finally, Ronaldo was elected “MVP” of Serie A in 2018-2019 and Trezeguet was also elected best player in the Italian championship in 2002. Admirable for a striker whose mission was to transform the slightest opportunity into a goal. “Trezegol” had far fewer opportunities to shake the net than the omnipotent Ronaldo.
