Manchester United struggling to recruit their striker

No more lavish spending? Manchester United have accustomed us to hitting hard in the transfer window by signing big checks, for players who sometimes weren’t worth it. After having already attracted Mason Mount (around €65m) and André Onana (for €52.5m), the Mancunian club is actively looking for its striker, but it does not seem ready for all the financial follies.

As reported by Daily Telegraph, Manchester United does not want to spend more than 70 M€ for its priority target, the Dane of Atalanta Rasmus Hojlund. The two clubs have been talking for several days already and the Italian leaders hope to get 100 M€ from it. That’s a lot for a player recruited a year ago from Sturm Graz for €17m and author of 9 goals in Serie A.

Fatalistic Ten Hag

MU has already been given priority on the Harry Kane file, one of his old dreams, and he is still looking for his new striker at the end of July. “The only thing I can say is that we are doing everything in our power to achieve this. If it were up to me, yes, it would be as soon as possible. The sooner the better, because we have to integrate him into the team, the way of playing.”said Erik Ten Hag on the sidelines of the US tour.

“In an ideal situation he would already be there, but you are not always entitled to the ideal situation and as a manager you have to deal with it”, he continued. Ten Hag can still count on Marcus Rashford, who extended, and Anthony Martial, on whom he still counts, but last season proved that this was not enough to score enough. United were the Premier League top 6 side with the fewest goals scored (58). Hence the need to recruit a goalscorer.
