Kylian Mbappé is in the headlines again, as the race to sign him intensifies.
As Paris Saint-Germain seem resigned to losing Mbappé, a number of scenarios have emerged. Apparently, the Parisians are considering loaning the French crack for the rest of the season in order to get him off. They are also said to be ready to accept an offer from Al Hilal of €300m.
However, according to The Team, FC Barcelona will also try their luck for the striker who has many links with Real Madrid. The French newspaper claim that Barcelona have scheduled a call with PSG for this Monday where they will discuss terms for Mbappé and offer players in exchange for the superstar as they cannot afford his potential price tag.
Sky claim that Manchester United, Inter and Tottenham are interested in the Bondynois, but those destinations seem equally unlikely for different reasons.
If FC Barcelona does not mind trying its luck, the operation seems almost impossible. Apart from the fact that Mbappé has spent much of his career declaring his admiration for Real Madrid, the Blaugrana are yet to register some of their new signings this summer. Allowing himself to offer the salary that Mbappé would undoubtedly demand, he who is the highest paid player in Europe, seems unlikely to say the least.
With a plethoric workforce, the Blaugrana club would nevertheless be inclined to exchange several players to lower the consequent bill.
