Mohamed Salah has been in sparkling form with Liverpool since the start of the season. Author of 16 goals and 13 assists in 23 games, the Egyptian right winger was crowned best player of the month for November in the Premier League.
By winning this trophy, Salah succeeds Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Cole Palmer (Chelsea) and Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest), respectively rewarded in August, September and October. But Nagrig’s child doesn’t stop there. Indeed, he now joins two legends of the Kingdom, Steven Gerrard, Mersey icon (1998-2015), and Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), with a total of six elections to his credit.
A new record in sight?
As Liverpool prepare to close out 2024 with trips to Tottenham and West Ham on December 22 and 29, as well as a reception against Leicester at Anfield on December 26 – Salah shows no signs of slowing down. Already involved in six goals in three league matches this month, he seems well on his way to adding a new individual distinction to his list of achievements.
The Pharaohs captain also comes close to the biggest holders of the Premier League player of the month award, Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), both elected seven times. The opportunity for Salah to write his name a little more in the annals of English football.
