The weeks follow one another and are similar in the ranks of theOGC Nice. Rather convincing on the domestic scene, the Gym is much less sovereign on a European scale, where it has suffered a series of disappointments since the start of this 2024-25 season.
Still looking for a first victory in this brand new Europa League formula, Franck Haise’s team will have a lot to do on Thursday, early in the evening, as they travel to Belgium to challenge Union Saint-Gilloise (kick-off at 6:45 p.m.).
A decimated group for Nice
Once again, Franck Haise will have headaches when putting together his starting lineup. The OGCN coach must deal with a real massacre within his squad. Dante, Jérémie Boga, Antoine Mendy, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Ali Abdi, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, Melvin Bard, Morgan Sanson, Mohamed-Ali Cho, Victor Orakpo and Terem Moffi will all be missing.
The good news, however, concerns the returns of Jonathan Clauss and Hicham Boudaoui. Will they be aligned from the start? Nothing is to be excluded. But the choice of the Gym coach will necessarily involve an element of risk, a few days before a trip to Montpellier. In view of the club’s accounting situation, Haise should rely on a competitive eleven with several executives expected, from Guessand to Ndombele, via Bulka.
The expected line-up for Nice: Bulka – Louchet, Bombito, Abdelmonem, Nandjou – Illie, Boudaoui, Ndombélé – Bouanani, Guessand, Diop.
