In the show Rothen s’igne on RMC, Christophe Dugarry was particularly harsh towards Kylian Mbappé. The former world champion strongly criticized the latest media intervention by the PSG striker in the show Clique on Canal+.
“Kylian, stop this unbearable victimization”
“Kylian, stop, no one takes pleasure in saying bad things about you, he started by telling her in a furious tone. Everyone wants you to succeed. You set the rules from the start, and today, we respond to you with the same demands. But every time, you play the victim. It’s unbearable! You want to be talked to like a modest player when you’ve shown your muscles. Now that you’re less fit, you complain. We have nothing against you.”
These words reflect Dugarry’s dismay in the face of what he perceives as a lack of humility and a victim’s posture in Mbappé.
“Griezmann, a model of patience and love of football”
To support his remarks, Dugarry drew a parallel with Antoine Griezmann, whom he describes as an example for Mbappé to follow. “Griezmann is a love of football. He has a smile, he shares. He plays for the collective, and it shows. Its longevity is thanks to this passion.” He goes on to highlight what he considers to be Mbappé’s mistakes: “Mbappé has never been patient. Everywhere he went, he asked for things instead of sharing them. Now that he’s in trouble, he’s starting to understand the importance of the collective.”
For “Duga”, the contrast is clear: where Griezmann flourishes through love of the game and the collective, Mbappé seems held back by his individual demands. A harsh criticism, but intended to wake up the Bondynois. Will this method work? The answer will only emerge over time.
