PSG are reportedly considering a possible move for Gyokeres with immediate effect, with the Ligue 1 leaders struggling to replace Kylian Mbappé since the France international left for free to Real Madrid in the summer. While former Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim said the 26-year-old striker would not leave until the summer, PSG can still sign him if they trigger their €100m exit clause and the persuaded to leave.
Fichajes says the team from the French capital is ready to “ give everything » and launching a bid for a player who has attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. It seems, however, that Premier League clubs don’t seem to want to make a January move for Gyokeres.
Paris ready to act quickly
PSG seeks to take advantage of the situation, the Parc des Princes club “working on a formal offer » for the club and the player. PSG still have major hurdles to overcome even if they trigger Gyokeres’ release clause with an offer of 100 million euros.
The most obvious problem is convincing the striker to leave Sporting. Although the Lisbon club are struggling to make the transition following Amorim’s departure to Manchester United, he is based in Portugal and should be patient in waiting for a transfer this summer.
Gyokeres is expected to have more options in June and July, with Arsenal and Manchester United both likely to be interested. Certainly, Amorim’s appeal at Old Trafford will be a factor.
