The Basque team first took the advantage thanks to an own goal from Diego Llorente, who deceived his own goalkeeper (14th, 1-0). Mikel Oyarzabal doubled the lead from the penalty spot a few minutes later (31st, 2-0).
A success which will do good for Imanol Alguacil’s men, who were defeated in the league during the Basque derby last week (1-0). At the end of the match, Real Sociedad took 9th place in the La Liga standings with 21 points. For its part, Betis is in 10th place with 20 points and has a third consecutive defeat in all competitions.
