Maresca’s satisfaction

Jadon Sancho (5 assists in 8 appearances in all competitions), like several of his teammates at Chelsea, is considered a second-rate player by coach Enzo Maresca. Faced with a bloated workforce, the Italian technician chose to split his team into two, one for the Premier League and another dedicated to cup competitions.

The English left winger, on loan this summer from Manchester United, is part of this second group. An unsatisfactory situation on a personal level, but which does not prevent Sancho from distinguishing himself, as evidenced by his performance in the Conference League this Thursday.

Sancho, a major asset for Chelsea

During the victory at Heidenheim (2-0), Sancho performed well by delivering two assists to Christopher Nkunku and Mykhaïlo Mudryk. In the post-match press conference, the Italian coach did not fail to praise the performance of the former Borussia Dortmund member.

“I’m very happy with Jadon. He can be a crucial player for us. He must be fit, mentally and physically and he will help us a lot. We need his quality in the final third of the pitch against a low block. He will help us, that’s for sure.” assured the 44-year-old tactician.
