Last summer, Elye Wahi swapped the North for the South, leaving RC Lens to join Olympique de Marseille. Recruited by the Marseille club for 25 million euros, the young French striker is preparing to cross paths with his former club this Saturday, during OM’s trip to the Bollaert stadium for the 12th day of Ligue 1 .
Wahi, who scored his second goal of the season in the Marseille jersey on October 20, during an impressive 5-0 success against Montpellier in his old garden at La Mosson, is expecting a lively reunion. His former Lens teammates, like Florian Sotoca, gave him a warm welcome. The Sang et Or center forward does not hide his intention to be uncompromising on the green rectangle.
Wahi expected around the corner, Sotoca warns him
“I followed the OM matches quite a bit and he had some complicated moments, but some good ones too. He was quite irregular in this first part of the season, but that’s part of the learning process. He’s young and developing, he has a lot of potential, but I hope we see him after Saturday.”declared the Narbonnais at the microphone of RMC.
“Elye is a good kid, a very good kid with a good state of mind. Saturday will be our opponent, so there will be no gifts. We’ll say hello to him after the match, not before! We are happy to have him back, but if we have to put in 2 or 3 shots over 90 minutes, we will not deprive ourselves of it,” concluded Sotoca.
