FC Barcelona will have to do without its young prodigy Lamine Yamal, injured in the right ankle during the match against Red Star Belgrade on November 6. According to AS and Sport, the 17-year-old player will not be lined up this Saturday against Celta Vigo in La Liga. The Catalan staff prefers not to take any risks while the player is still complaining of persistent pain in the malleolus.

Worse, his participation in the Champions League match against Stade Brestois on Tuesday remains uncertain. A prolonged absence would be a hard blow for Barça, as Yamal has been decisive this season with 6 goals and 8 assists in just 16 matches in all competitions.

Hansi Flick will give news

While the internationals resume training this Thursday, coach Hansi Flick is expected to speak at a press conference on Friday to clarify the state of health of the Spanish jewel. Barca fans are hoping for a quick return, but the club is favoring a full recovery to avoid any worsening of the injury.
