Their parking lot project was halted, however, as were the concerts that were supposed to be held this year (due to noise pollution), and now the much-publicized SkyBar is causing them problems too.
The SkyBar was supposed to be the most exclusive space at the Bernabeu, offering views of the pitch from above, and containing a restaurant and club with views of the Spanish capital. It was supposed to open this summer, but it has not yet opened, and no information has been given on when it will open.
New Bernabeu causes problems
According to El Confidencial (via MD), the catering company Los Blancos hired for the space is suing them for €16.5 million. Anastasia Gourmet was supposed to be allowed into the space six months ago, and claims it is causing them millions in losses, €7 million of which is to suppliers.
As we said before, Real Madrid is already facing several problems related to the Bernabéu renovations. There is already talk of the loss of revenue which would open the door to a major sale next summer. This Sunday, president Florentino Pérez will address the club’s members during the general assembly and could then address the subject.
