After terminating his contract with Juventus last week, Paul Pogba is looking to join a new team in January. And his preference clearly goes to a French team.
The 2018 world champion’s suspension for taking banned substances expires in March next year and English media outlet ESPN suggests that La Pioche wants to find a new base from the winter transfer window to try to rebuild his career.
Pogba ready to discover a new championship
The same source indicates that the former Manchester United star wants to play in a major European championship in order to give himself a better chance of joining Didier Deschamps’ French selection, where he no longer has a place. Which de facto excludes exile in Saudi Arabia or MLS.
Several clubs have contacted the player’s entourage about a potential transfer, as he trains in Miami to improve his physical condition for his next challenge.
As a reminder, Pogba tested positive for DHEA and has not played since September 3, 2023, after Juventus’ Serie A match against Udinese in August of the same year. Injuries also limited the Frenchman to just eight Serie A appearances during his second spell at Juventus before his playing ban last year. Episodes that he hopes to have left behind and with the ambition of returning to his former level as quickly as possible.
