Real Madrid, faced with mixed performances at the start of the season, is already preparing for the next transfer window. Two prestigious names, Florian Wirtz and Joshua Kimmich, were among the priorities to strengthen the squad, but Florentino Pérez seems to have decided.
Florian Wirtz, the priority for Pérez
According to A.S.the Madrid president is banking on the youth and potential of Florian Wirtz, a gem from Bayer Leverkusen. Author of an impressive season, the German attacking midfielder is valued at around 130 million euros. A substantial investment that Real Madrid seems ready to consider to compensate for the departure of Toni Kroos and regain offensive creativity.
Kimmich on the sidelines
Despite his experience and versatility, Joshua Kimmich (29), currently at Bayern Munich, does not seem to fit Real Madrid’s strategy. As he approaches his thirties, the midfielder could be left to competition, notably at FC Barcelona or Manchester City, who are also monitoring his file. At the end of the contract in June, Kimmich could be available this winter at a lower cost, but Pérez favors a long-term solution.
