Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres could be available for just £63million this summer, putting Premier League clubs on alert.

Gyokeres has established himself as one of the continent’s most outstanding strikers throughout this season. He scored a hat-trick in Sporting’s 4-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League in midweek, taking his season tally to 23 goals in just 17 games. Today, The Telegraph reports that he will be allowed to leave this summer for around £63million, despite having a €100million release clause in his contract.

Gyokeres only cost Sporting £20 million and therefore a fee of £63 million would still represent an immense profit. Due to his potential price tag, there was interest from Manchester United, who announced the appointment of Sporting boss Ruben Amorim as their next manager, along with Chelsea and Arsenal.

United are monitoring him

Gyokeres played 116 matches for Coventry in England, and also played for Swansea and Brighton. During his career in English football, he scored 45 goals, 43 of which were for Coventry.

Amorim hinted that Gyokeres could potentially leave this summer during his post-City press conference, and United will surely be monitoring his progress in Portugal. Sporting next play Braga this weekend, in what will be the manager’s final match before traveling to Old Trafford.
