Irreducible Brest residents! After defeating Sturm Graz (2-1) and RB Salzburg (0-4), after holding Bayer Leverkusen to a draw (1-1), SB29 achieved a new performance in the Champions League, defeating the Sparta on home soil, in Prague (1-2).

To sign the third victory in their history in the queen of European competitions, the Bretons knew how to force their destiny once again, prudent and enterprising just enough to strike at the right time. First by Edimilson Fernandes (0-1, 37e), of an adjusted distant recovery.

Fourth club in the European hierarchy

Good managers in the second half, the Brestois were able to make the break at the end of the match with a confused action and an own goal from the unfortunate Kaan Kairinen (0-2, 80e), under pressure from Ludovic Ajorque and Kamory Doumbia. Enough to make anecdotal the reduction in the gap for the Czechs acquired thanks to Victor Olatunji (1-2, 90e+2).

With 10 units collected in four days, Eric Roy’s men already have their ticket for the rest of the competition almost in their pocket. Fourth out of 36, the Breton club follows in the footsteps of AS Monaco, victorious the day before in Bologna (0-1), ahead of continental juggernauts such as Inter, Barça or Dortmund, not to mention Manchester City, Bayern or Real Madrid, even further behind.
