Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has expressed his regret following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag, saying he feels “responsible” for the situation. After the draw (1-1) against Chelsea, Fernandes explained that he had apologized to the Dutch coach, believing that the players share the responsibility for his departure: “Every time a coach leaves, we also have to take on part of the responsibility”declared the Portuguese midfielder. Since the dismissal, Fernandes has found the net again, scoring twice against Leicester and a penalty against Chelsea.

The departure of Ten Hag paves the way for the arrival of Ruben Amorim, current coach of Sporting Lisbon, whom Fernandes particularly admires. “Amorim transformed everything there and brought everyone together”confided the captain of the Red Devils, impatient to start a new era under the orders of his compatriot, expected on November 11. Despite his efforts and sincerity, Fernandes nevertheless came under fire from former captain Roy Keane, who deemed his apology ” too little, too late
“.
