While awaiting the arrival of Ruben Amorim as new coach of Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy, currently interim coach, expressed his wish to join the Portuguese’s future staff.
Since the dismissal of Erik ten Hag, Van Nistelrooy has taken charge of the team and led the Red Devils to a 5-2 victory over Leicester in the Carabao Cup, securing a place in the quarter-finals against Tottenham. “I am here to help the club, in whatever position I am needed”he said.
Popular support for Van Nistelrooy
With the deal with Sporting Lisbon for Amorim close to being finalized, fans are hoping Van Nistelrooy will be integrated into the staff, thanks to his status as a club legend and his positive impact on the players.
According to Van Nistelrooy, his desire to serve the club remains unchanged: “I’m here to give everything I have for the club, surrounded by people who want the best for United”. The former Dutch striker could therefore play a key role in the transition, bringing stability and passion to a team seeking renewal.
