Winner of the Kopa Trophy, Lamine Yamal commented on the racist acts to which he was subjected during the Clasico, Saturday (0-4).

These are deplorable images which highlight a scourge in Spain. Videos posted on social media showed Lamine Yamal being insulted by Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu during Saturday’s Clasico, which the Catalan club won 4-0.

It did not take much longer to see the White House react and
indicate that an investigation had been opened on this matter in order to condemn any form of racism, xenophobia or violence in football. “ Real Madrid strongly condemns any type of behavior involving racism, xenophobia or violence in football and sport, and deeply regrets the insults uttered last night by some supporters in one of the corners of the stadium. “Real Madrid has opened an investigation to locate and identify the perpetrators of these deplorable and despicable insults so that appropriate disciplinary and legal measures can be taken.”

Lamine Yamal’s reaction

In this context, Lamine Yamal’s reaction was also watched. And the young Spanish international showed quite fantastic maturity and detachment.
“Insults at the Bernabéu? I’m the one on the pitch, I only focus on the pitch. I’m not interested in fans who say stupid things.”

Comments made in Paris after Yamal was nominated for the Kopa trophy, rewarding the best young person of the year. A way to prove, if necessary, that the Barça nugget is as difficult to destabilize on the field as off it.
