While Ruben Amorim, current coach of Sporting CP, is favorite to succeed Erik ten Hag at the helm of Manchester United, Paul Scholes has expressed his reservations. According to the former Mancunian star, Amorim, although admired for his style of play, represents a risky gamble due to his limited experience at elite clubs. “Amorim plays good football, but he comes from a lesser league. It’s a bit like Ten Hag back in the day.”explains Scholes.
Zidane, an ideal choice for United?
Scholes, who regrets Thomas Tuchel being named England manager, believes Zinedine Zidane would be a better choice for a club of the stature of Manchester United. “Zidane has proven his experience by winning three Champions Leagues with Real Madrid. He would be more suited to the high expectations at Old Trafford.”he adds. Although Zidane has not expressed a desire to join the Premier League, Scholes remains confident that a manager of his caliber could bring success back to the club.
