The Spaniard Aitana Bonmati has just been crowned for the second time in a row as Ballon d’Or.

Aitana Bonmati’s reign over women’s football continues. This Monday, the FC Barcelona player received her second consecutive Ballon d’Or. She thus repeats the performance of her teammate Alexia Putellas, crowned in 2021 and 2022.

“You can’t do it again, but I’m extremely grateful to be on stage today. It’s not easy what we accomplish. But I play a team sport, and I am surrounded by incredible players both at club and national level.”she declared with great emotion after receiving her prize.

A 100% Barcelona podium

Bonmati’s coronation could not be more deserved. Over the past season, she scored 26 goals and offered 21 assists. She also enriched her record with the Spanish Championship, the Queen’s Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and, above all, the Champions League. Just that!

The BO women’s podium is completed by two other Barça players, namely Caroline Graham and Salma Paralluelo.
“If it were up to me, we would share this trophy equally,” Bonmati said.
