Monaco fell to Nice this Sunday as part of the 9th day of L1 (2-1).

ASM is not invincible. In eight days of the championship and three rounds of the Champions League so far, the Principality club had not yet failed this season. We had to wait for the Riviera derby this Sunday and the ninth act of the L1 to see Adi Hütter’s men dive.

Embolo, however, worked to open the scoring for the Monegasques (0-1, 39e), but the Aiglons were able to respond through Guessand just before the break, in added time of the first period (1-1, 45e+1). An end to the act also marked by the expulsion of Vanderson for a second warning received for a gesture of humor (45e+4). The turning point of the match.

Laborde makes the difference

From then on, Monaco logically suffered in this derby, conceding the winning goal for the Gym at the heart of the second period, by the new entrant Laborde (2-1, 71e). All for a Nice victory, finally, after four draws and two defeats in all competitions – a success which allows the OGCN to climb into eighth position, one length behind the Lens-Reims-OL trio.

In its wake, Nice is training this Sunday a Strasbourg which brought out the heavy artillery at the same time to dominate FC Nantes (3-1), with achievements signed Santos, twice (17e57e) and Bakwa (74e) ; the Canaries having saved the honor by Guirassy at the end of the match (83e).
