Beaten by Ferencvaros, Nice disappoints again

Nice lost in Hungary against Ferencvaros this Thursday on the 3rd day of the Europa League (0-1).

Continuing at this pace, the Eaglets
should not fly long on the continent. With only one point on the clock after its draw against Real Sociedad (1-1) and its big setback against Lazio Rome (1-4), OGC Nice hoped to unlock its victory counter in this new League formula Europe.

On paper, the matter was not insurmountable, since Ferencvaros, a team from Budapest, seemed to be on the ropes of Nice. But once again, Franck Haise’s team failed to impose its game.

An evening to forget for Nice

Worse than that, Nice appeared very feverish during a first act largely dominated by the Hungarians. The locals took the advantage quickly, after a quarter of an hour of play, on a ball accidentally deflected by Bombito into his own goal (1-0, 15th).

And if a reaction was expected, the rest of the meeting really did not put the Aiglons to their advantage. The Budapest club even multiplied the clear opportunities and could have doubled the lead without a decisive Bulka (45th + 3, 61st). The expulsion at the end of the match of Rosario (84th) completed an evening to forget for the Nice. Opposed to Twente in two weeks, Nice must not miss out. In the meantime, the derby against Monaco is looming this Sunday…
