Sneijder thinks he deserved the Ballon d’Or in 2010

Wesley Sneijder was an exceptional number 10. A complete midfielder with well-above-average technique and frightening ball striking, the former Inter Milan player could have won the Ballon d’Or in 2010.

Winner of the Champions League and finalist of the World Cup in the same year in 2010, the midfielder was the number 1 choice of journalists. During an interview given on Alhaya TVthe former number 10 returned to this episode.

» It was a bit unfair that it wasn’t me who won the 2010 Ballon d’Or, but that Messi got it in the end. Even though I’m not a man who cries over things like that, the Ballon d’Or is an individual award. But hey, my preference is to win collective trophies. If I had to choose between Champions League and the Ballon d’Or, I would choose the Champions League which I won. I am very happy with this title. »
