Paris dominated Strasbourg (4-2) this Saturday as part of the 8th day of L1. Before tackling a decisive week.

Despite a daring defense with the return of Zaire-Emery to the right-back position, Beraldo as a counterpart on the left and an axis monitored by the Pacho-Skriniar pair, and despite the tenure of the young Mayulu to support – among others – an Asensio promoted to forward -center, PSG provided the essentials against Strasbourg this Saturday during the 8e day of L1, at the end of the international break.

In a match that is never easy to negotiate, especially before a Champions League day, Luis Enrique’s men were able to avoid the trap, quickly taking the lead thanks to the juvenile Mayulu, a few minutes after a first attempt sent onto the post ( 1-0, 18e). Returning from the locker room, Asensio, not without success, was able to sign the decisive break (2-0, 47e), thus authorizing the locals their usual largesse.

Leader before going to the Vélodrome

Because in this meeting where they were generally copiously dominated, the Alsatians had the merit of finding the fault twice – by Mara (58e) and Diongue (90e+1). Bursts of pride without great consequences since the Parisians will have always taken care of their margin, strengthened by additional achievements works of Barcola (3-1, 66e) and Lee (4-1, 90e).

Winner with a score of 4-2, PSG took advantage of Monaco’s draw the day before against Lille (0-0) to regain control of the championship, on goal difference – RCSA for its part in seventh position, four lengths from the top European ranks. A good thing done for Paris which has its work cut out for it now. Tuesday, it will be about moving forward against Eindhoven in the Champions League. This before going to challenge OM at the Vélodrome next Sunday, in a possible six-point match…
