No winner in the Breton derby

Brestois and Rennais parted back to back this Saturday as part of the 8th day of Ligue 1 (1-1).

It is not for lack of will and self-sacrifice but Stade Brestois and Stade Rennais were unable to decide between themselves this Saturday on the lawn of Francis-Le Blé. This 100% Breton poster of the 8e lifting of Ligue 1 having ended with a parity score.

Better entering the match and more enterprising, the Brestois opened the scoring with a controversial action and a penalty awarded to Del Castillo’s paw for a handball in the penalty area (1-0, 54e). This after returning from the locker room.

Rennes in the tough

More balanced then, then totally unbridled in the last minutes, the debates finally saw the visitors return to the game thanks to an opportunistic Jota (1-1, 87e).

On arrival, however, this draw does not do the business of either team since Brest and Rennes occupy the 9e and 12e elite ranks respectively. The Reds and Blacks are in trouble, deprived of success in L1 for four days already.
