Real Madrid have identified the player capable of replacing Luka Modric within their squad from next summer.

Real Madrid are ready to bet on Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz next summer. Real leaders consider the German international as the natural replacement for Luka Modric.

Real is not in pole position for its preferred target

According to the daily AS, Real Madrid intends to take steps to find an agreement, but is in no hurry. However, Bayern Munich are best placed if Wirtz leaves Bayer Leverkusen next year.

The reigning German champions are also working on extending the German international’s contract.

This season, Wirtz has scored six goals and provided one assist in ten competitive matches for Bayer Leverkusen. His current contract runs until summer 2027.
