Patrice Evra spoke this Tuesday on RMC Sport, as he has done at the start of each week since the start of the season. The former defender took advantage of his last visit to tell an anecdote concerning Zinedine Zidane and Jérome Rothen, his interlocutor and whom he had as a teammate at AS Monaco.
“During Monaco-Real Madrid, Rothen fouls Zizou. Jérôme holds out his hand to him, Zidane tells him “release your hand”. And at the Blues rally, Rothen was a ghost for Zidane,” revealed Evra.
Evra agrees with Rothen in his dispute against Zidane
Rothen and Zidane have not been on good terms for many years. Not long ago, he even called him a liar. Evra admits that Rothen is right in his version when he talks about the tricolor legend, but without wanting to get angry with it. “Zidane’s reaction can be understood given the tension,” he proclaimed.
Evra also said that during this experience in Monaco, Didier Deschamps didn’t really like it when they provoked the Real Madrid stars. “He told us are you crazy? Where do you think you are? This is the 1e time you compete in this competition,” he said, adding: “but we were carefree, and when you have ambition they say in France that you are arrogant.”
