Thanks in particular to a double from Saïd Benrahma, Algeria offered a great 5-1 victory to its public against Togo, Thursday in qualifying for the next CAN.

Algeria is on track to quietly qualify for the next African Cup of Nations (organized next December and January in Morocco). After successes against Equatorial Guinea and Liberia, the Greens led by Vladimir Petkovic slapped Togo by winning with a score of 5-1, Thursday in Annaba (the fourth city of the country), during the third day of the CAN qualifications.

The Eperviers, still led by Alaixys Romao (40), nevertheless opened the scoring at the start of the match through Thibault Klidje (11th). The Algerians took their time to turn the situation around. Saïd Benrahma equalized with a huge shot from outside the area (29th). Then the OL winger converted a penalty caused by Bounedjah as the hour mark approached (55th). This double will do him a lot of good for the rest of the season.

Houssem Aouar then increased the score with a nice cross strike (68th), then Amine Gouiri and Mohamed Amoura, who came on (notably in place of Riyad Mahrez), scored the last two Algerian goals (86th and 95th).
