A big name in world football passed away on Monday. He was 73 years old.

Former Ajax, FC Barcelona and Netherlands player Johan Neeskens (73) has died, KNVB reported on Monday. Neeskens is best known for his penalty in the 1974 World Cup final against West Germany. He was one of the very best players in A Clockwork Orange.

Cruyff’s right arm but not only that

Neeskens died eight years after his former teammate Johan Cruyff, his former teammate in the selection. With Ruud Krol, they were the symbols of Batavian success.

One of the main members of A Clockwork Orange was in our country when he had his illness. It was a visit as part of the WorldCoache program, organized by his federation. Although he quickly received medical assistance, his life could not be saved.

A minute’s silence will be observed in tribute to Neeskens during the Netherlands’ next two Nations League matches, against Germany and Hungary.
