After its defeat at Arsenal in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain was held to Nice (1-1) at the end of the 7th day of Ligue 1, and ceded the lead in the ranking to AS Monaco.

At the start of the week, Paris Saint-Germain were undefeated since the start of the season and leader of Ligue 1. None of that is true anymore. After losing on the pitch of Arsenal (2-0) in the Champions League, the capital club gave in on the pitch of OGC Nice (1-1), this Sunday evening, at the end of the 7th day of Ligue 1.

Jostled this week by the Gunners, the Parisians were again shaken in the first period by the Niçois, who for their part had to redeem themselves from their defeat in Rome against Lazio in the Europa League (4-1). After several alerts from Evann Guessand, it was finally left-back Ali Abdi who opened the scoring by deceiving Gianluigi Donnarumma with a deflected shot (1-0, 39th).

PSG overtaken by Monaco

At the break, Luis Enrique revised his copy by taking out poor Randal Kolo Muani, whose future in Paris is darkening. And if PSG reacted well, being rewarded for their push by… a deflected shot from their left side, Nuno Mendes (1-1, 52nd), Parisian domination was not sufficient for the rest of the match to avoid a second draw in Ligue 1 this season, after the one conceded in Reims (1-1).

These two points stolen by the Gym from PSG do the business of the Aiglons’ rival, AS Monaco, who moved to the top of the standings after their victory in Rennes (1-2). Even if OM has been stalling for two matches, PSG will have plenty of competition in Ligue 1 this season.
