The Lyonnais outclassed the Rangers this Thursday in Glasgow, for the second act of the Europa League. Not without a double from Lacazette.

Mute in Ligue 1 since the start of the season, Alexandre Lacazette finally had fun finding the fault on the continental scene. Against the Rangers, this Thursday evening in Glasgow, the captain of Les Gones pulled out all the stops.

If the young Malick Fofana initially stole the show, by opening the scoring at the start of the match after good work from Rayan Cherki (10e) and finally going for his double (55e), the veteran striker took the spotlight as he should too, scoring twice rather than once (19e45e+1).

OL second in the general ranking

Twice served by Fofana, Lacazette delighted his team, notably scoring a second goal that looked like a golazo, just before the break – the achievement of the KO certainly for a valiant but muddled Scottish team in the two zones of truth.

A week after their victory over Olympiacos at Groupama Stadium (2-0), OL, who also beat Toulouse last weekend in Ligue 1 (1-2), confirm their burst of pride. With the key in the Europa League being a good second place in the general ranking (out of 36 clubs). Only Lazio, executioner of OGC Nice earlier in the evening (4-1), is ahead of Pierre Sage’s group on goal difference (+6 against +5).
