The second day of this new edition of the Champions League ended this Wednesday evening. And despite this new championship format, the most beautiful European competition continues to have surprises in store for us. After two full cards, against Brugge (0-3) and Celtic (7-1), Borussia Dortmund occupies the head of this ranking… just ahead of Stade Brestois. For their first participation, the Bretons won against Sturm Graz (2-1), before winning in Salzburg (0-4). Benfica Lisbon, winners of Red Star Belgrade (1-2) and Atlético Madrid (4-0), complete this podium.

Regarding the other French clubs competing in this C1, AS Monaco occupies 14th place (play-off), after its success against FC Barcelona (2-1) and its draw against Dinamo Zagreb (2-2 ). Beaten by Sporting Lisbon (2-0), Lille recovered by offering itself a prestigious victory against Real Madrid (1-0) and is now in 15th position (play-off). Finally, Paris Saint-Germain ranks in 18th position (play-off), after its last-minute success against Girona (1-0) and its defeat on the pitch at Arsenal (2-0). As a reminder, the first eight in this ranking will be directly qualified for the round of 16. The teams placed between 9th and 24th places will compete in a round-trip play-off. Finally, clubs ranked from 26th position will be definitively eliminated from all European competitions for this season.
