Mercato: OM attempted an improbable comeback
The newspaper L’Équipe indeed indicated this week that Olympique de Marseille had tried to secure the services of… Benjamin Mendy. The French daily specifies that this pronounced interest in the 2018 world champion was manifested in the winter of 2024, during the January window.
Benjamin Mendy, then a player at FC Lorient, was unable to sign up for OM. As a reminder, the left-back spent three years in Marseille, between 2013 and 2016. According to the specialized media La Minute OM, it was Gennaro Gattuso who was at the origin of this file.
