Chelsea impress with their ability to strike very early in their matches, and Morgan Rogers believes that Xabi Alonso’s speeches have a lot to do with it. On Saturday, the Blues crushed Bournemouth (5-1) at Stamford Bridge, with two goals scored in the first two and a half minutes, by Jordan Henderson then Rogers. However, after the match, the Spanish coach assured that he had no particular explanation for this efficiency: “I have nothing to do with it. I have no explanation”. A version that his player nuanced in the mixed zone, by directly highlighting the work of his coach. “I think it comes from the manager’s speeches to the team. He motivates us »explained Rogers, convinced that this preparation allows the Londoners to approach the first minutes with particular confidence.
The attacking midfielder also underlined the importance of these successful starts for the rest of the matches. Chelsea have notably scored very quickly against Fulham, Brighton and Arsenal this season, confirming a trend which does not seem to be a coincidence. “The goals give us confidence. We always want to take the advantage from the start”continued Rogers, before emphasizing the benefits of this dynamic: “We won a lot of games, especially at home, after scoring quickly. This is a good thing that we must continue to develop. » This is clear.
