Leader of the Champions League standings after its resounding 6-1 victory against Slovan Bratislava, Paris Saint-Germain will have to face a much tougher opponent next Wednesday. The reigning double European champions travel to England to challenge Manchester City. A match which will be refereed by a German. UEFA has just revealed that Sven Jablonski has been chosen to lead this matchday 2 clash. He will be assisted by his compatriots Eduard Beitinger and Christian Dietz.

This will be the first time that Jablonski will referee PSG in C1. The German has already crossed paths with the capital club, but it was for a Youth League match against Juventus in September 2022 (5-3 for the Parisians). On the other hand, he has already managed a Skyblues match in the most prestigious European competition. It was last season, during the lost trip to Bodo/Glimt (1-3) in the league phase. Finally, the French public has already seen Jablonski at work this season since it was he who was on the whistle for the C1 first leg play-off between Fenerbahçe and Olympique Lyonnais (1-1).
