Having left PSG this summer for the astronomical sum of 145 million euros, Bradley Barcola chose Liverpool to take a new step and discover the Premier League. Barred by significant competition in Paris, notably with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and several offensive reinforcements, the French international hoped to find more space with the Reds. However, its beginnings are complicated: Liverpool currently occupies ninth place and remains with a heavy defeat at Anfield against Manchester City (0-3). Asked by Sky Sportsthe winger returned to the discussions which convinced him to join the club coached by Andoni Iraola.
“Before signing, we discussed that I would play on the wing, do what I do best and play with a lot of speed. That’s why he thought I was a good fit for this team.”explained Bradley Barcola. Despite still a delicate adaptation, the Frenchman knows what his coach expects of him: to evolve sideways and exploit his speed qualities. Against Manchester City, he was also used in a number 9 role throughout the match, proof that he can be called upon to help out in the middle. All that remains is to find his feet in this new environment and to realize the expectations placed on him.
