Genoa formalizes the change in its organization chart. The Italian club announced this Sunday the arrival of François Modesto as Chief of Football, where he will be responsible for strategic management and guidance of the technical sector. The French manager has solid experience in European football, notably at Olympiakos, where he served as sporting director then director of recruitment, at Nottingham Forest and at Monza. He joined Juventus in the summer of 2025 as technical director, before leaving his position in July 2026.

The 48-year-old Corsican continues to make his mark in Italy, while AC Milan and AS Roma have also explored him in recent years. At the same time, Genoa appointed Stefano Melissano as sporting director. He will be responsible for the management of the first team, player selection and transfer market operations, in collaboration with the club’s technical structure. The two men’s mission will be to support the development of the workforce and continue the work of promoting the Genoese group.
