More than ten years after the Periscope affair, Serge Aurier apologized to Laurent Blanc. Except they were scripted.

Friday evening, Canal+ Football broadcast a new episode of Detective Mathouxwith Serge Aurier as guest. The right-back, now without a club since his departure from Persepolis (Iranian D1), returned to the Periscope affair, with a staging of the production of the show.

“Dear coach, if you only knew how sorry I am. Ten years have passed, and I can’t stop thinking about you. I didn’t think a word of it. Let’s talk about it over coffee. I invite you, I insist. Please coach, forgive me,” read the Ivory Coast international, after journalist Hervé Mathoux moistened his eyes with an onion.

Serge Aurier therefore shows a certain humor. A little dubious for the tastes of some, like Héloïse Kane.
“Why put a part back in the machine ten years later? It takes us back to a bad image we had of him and which shows us that he would not have evolved”judged the former athlete turned sports consultant on the L’Équipe channel.

Periscope affair, ten years already…

At the time, the defender made insulting remarks towards his coach, Laurent Blanc, whom he described as
“fiotte”. One of his teammates at the capital club, goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu, had also been denigrated.

Initially, the native of Ouragahio (Ivory Coast) was condemned by PSG to play with the CFA. He returned to the first team during the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Manchester City on April 6, 2016, at the Parc des Princes.
