Clearly, Vinícius Júnior cannot do it this season. This Saturday evening, Real Madrid thought they had finally freed themselves with the goal of the break against Villarreal thanks to a splendid action from the Madrid camp. Jude Bellingham, after monumental work on the left side, moved up the entire field before serving Vinicius from behind. The Brazilian only had to adjust his flat foot to deceive the goalkeeper and trigger the joy of the supporters. But the celebration was short-lived, with the VAR intervening to signal a foul at the start of the action.

Analysis of the images revealed a difficult to defend gesture from Vinicius at the very start of the action. When launching the counter-attack from his own camp, the Brazilian striker deliberately pulled Nathan Saliba’s hair to get rid of his marking. After viewing the VAR, the referee had no choice but to cancel the goal for the previous foul and to inflict a direct red card, completely logical, on Vinicius, who vehemently expressed his dissatisfaction.
