On the eve of Villarreal’s reception in La Liga, José Mourinho still has to deal with several uncertainties within his squad. As Real Madrid prepare to return to competition after the international break, the Portuguese technician took advantage of his press conference to give a complete update on his infirmary. And the news is quite mixed. “Fede Valverde is uncertain, Militão is not since he will be unavailable… but seeing him train and progress reassures me. I joke with him and the physios every day: “You’re going to play!” I knew he was good, but he’s even better.”explained the Special One.

And Mourinho will have to wait a little longer before regaining all of his strength. “He won’t be available tomorrow, nor against Roma… he needs two weeks. Mendy will make his first appearance with us, and Rodrygo is still far from ready. We will decide today the composition of the team for tomorrow”he continued. If Ferland Mendy should therefore make his first appearance of the season with the Madrid group, the return of Rodrygo is not yet on the table. As for Militão, we will have to wait at least two more weeks before considering seeing him in competition again. Enough to force Mourinho to adjust his plans for the next deadlines, while Real Madrid must notably continue with a European meeting against AS Roma.
