This fall, Jérémy Jacquet had the honor of taking his first steps in the French team. Brilliant in the Nations League, the 21-year-old central defender did not participate in the match against Belgium (4-1) as a precaution, after feeling a strain in his hamstring. Four days later, his coach, Andoni Iraola, announced that his player was recovered and available for this weekend’s clash against Manchester City.

“He did very well. First of all because he is a very good player. You’ve seen snippets, but until you have him by your side every day, you can’t truly appreciate what he’s capable of. I’m happy for him personally, because making your debut for France is always difficult. He played well, he has reason to be happy, but he still has a long way to go. He is fit and ready to play. He did not play the last match with the France team as a precaution. He will be fine, we have to train tomorrow”he confided at a press conference.
