The Friedkin Group (TFG), owner of Everton, announced on Friday that it was exploring new investment options for the English club, including the potential sale of a majority stake. Arriving at the head of the Toffees while the club was going through a period of great financial and sporting uncertainty, the American group believes it has laid the necessary foundations for its future, particularly with the completion of the new stadium, long awaited by supporters.

TFG states that it only wants to study proposals from investors capable of ensuring the continuity of the project and prolonging the momentum initiated. The group assures that it will continue to support the club, currently seventh in the Premier League, and to contribute to its sporting success as well as the development of local communities. The investment bank Moelis & Company was mandated to support this process. Please note that no other declarations will be made during the entire process.

“The Friedkin Group is exploring new investment options for Everton Football Club, including the possibility of selling a majority stake. When TFG took over the reins of Everton, the club was facing significant financial uncertainty and difficulties both off and on the pitch. The immediate priority was to provide the stability, investment and support needed to secure the club’s future, including contributing to the long-promised completion of the stadium for its supporters who fully deserve it. With these foundations now firmly established, the time has come to consider Everton’s next step. We will only study expressions of interest from parties whom we are convinced will be the good guarantors of the future of the club and will be able to build on the dynamic established. Throughout this process, TFG’s priorities will remain unchanged. We will continue to support the club in any way necessary to enable it to succeed on the field and continue our efforts to have a positive impact on the communities it serves. TFG and the club will not make any further comment while this process takes place. Moelis & Company was mandated by TFG ».
