Sports director of OM, Grégory Lorenzi has broken the silence on the future of Bruno Genesio, who did not hide his frustration with the situation of the club before the international break.

After a promising start against Strasbourg (4-0), OM suffered four defeats in a row in Ligue 1, thus finding themselves relegated. A difficult situation to live with for the new Olympian coach, Bruno Genesio, who expressed his frustration on several occasions, particularly regarding the summer transfer window, which ended without any arrivals.

And while rumors about a potential resignation of the former Losc coach have started to flourish in recent weeks, Grégory Lorenzi spoke this Wednesday in the columns of The Team to make things clear.

To the question “do you think he could resign”, the Marseille sports director replied:
” No not at all. The coach has committed to us until 2028, we are planning with Bruno and there is simply no subject on that. »

Lorenzi: “This does not mean there is internal friction”

“I think we are all aligned with the coach, the management and me, added Lorenzi. Bruno makes an observation through what he thinks. Having talked about it with him, it is also his role to say what he feels. Afterwards, it is not because we say it in the press that it will necessarily bring anything. »

Before concluding: “We can understand that he is annoyed because he feels that there is good content, there is frustration. This does not mean that there is internal friction. We are all lucid and that does not call into question the coach’s project at OM. » Unless there is a twist, Bruno Genesio will continue his adventure in Marseille.
