Kylian Mbappé should be able to start for Real Madrid against Villarreal this Saturday, according to information from the daily AS. Returning to Madrid this Monday after a few days of active rest supervised by the medical staff, the French striker will continue his rehabilitation at Valdebebas. Hit in the left knee with the France team, Mbappé suffered from hyperextension of the posterior capsule, an injury ultimately considered less serious than feared and not requiring surgical intervention.
Absent from collective training this Monday morning due to his late return, the Frenchman should however gradually resume with his teammates. According to AS, his physical condition does not call into question his presence against Villarreal and José Mourinho is even counting on him to start the match. Good news for Real Madrid, who will need their top scorer – eight goals this season – in an important period, notably before a trip to Barcelona for the first Clasico of the season.
