All eyes were on Zidane and his first in the French team except that Kylian Mbappé’s knee injury changed everything. On the Blues’ only goal scored in Turkey (1-0 victory, first day of the Nations League), the captain immediately held his left knee after regaining support following his strike. Grimacing, he was quickly replaced by Doué and returned to the locker room to check the state of his joint, the same one that made him suffer at the very beginning of the year.
“Kylian Mbappé injured his knee. He suffers from a tendon injury and is out of the rest of the rally», Informs the press release from the France team this evening, confirming the worrying comments of the coach at the microphone of TF1. This international window is already closing for the striker, who will therefore miss the two matches against Belgium and the match against Italy. He will return to Madrid where his club is already gritting its teeth. He also received the support of Arda Güler after the meeting.
Real Madrid can tremble
The good news is his exit from the locker room without a crutch but with a slight limp. Mbappé has not yet carried out any tests but there is obviously reason to worry in Spain. The media is already considering the extent of his injury and the recovery time needed. In case of slight distension, it would take between 2 and 3 weeks, 4 to 6 weeks for moderate and between 6 and 8 weeks for a more significant lesion, described El Larguero in his evening show. 10 to 12 weeks could be considered in the event of a complication.
Still, the player risks being absent for a few matches. “ If I were Mourinho, I would be worried because Vinicius is not performing well, Dumfries is affected and now Mbappé… », is alarmed TV3the Catalan public channel. Already in difficulty during its last matches, Real Madrid has difficulty welcoming this news. Big deadlines arrive after this international break with the reception of Villarreal on October 10 in La Liga, a trip to Roma in the Champions League 4 days later. The Clasico will take place on October 25 at the Nou Camp.
